This section covers the basic questions that a new RB6 player may ask.
How, or is that who, do I kill?
Ok, I start the game, I see a bunch of people, I kill them, and at the end of the game, everyone is upset with me. Why? First, look on the bottom of your screen near the right, there is a little box with info about the game. Look for the word "TEAM SURVIVAL. This means that you are playing the game in a team. The object of the game is to kill everyone on the other team. Yeah, but HOW CAN I TELL WHO IS ON MY TEAMS AND WHO IS NOT? Ah, the classic question. There are four ways: - Look at the people you start with and note their uniforms. Memorize the color. People who aren't that color are NOT on your team.
- If you forget to do this, press F1. Now you see yourself, look at your suit...
- Look on the bottom of your screen. There, you see the color or texture of your suit. People who aren't that color are NOT on your team.
- Look on your map, the Blue dots are the people on your team, the Red ones are enemies (to get a bigger view of the map, press the ] or [ keys to zoom in or out on the map in the bottom left corner).
VERY IMPORTANT: To kill someone instantly with one bullet only, always, always, always shoot the head! If you shoot legs, arms, back or front, you will probably only wound the guy, he will NOT die and he will kill you.
Why am I being killed when no one is there?
Ah, someone is there, you just don't see them. I got very annoyed because I was just walking around, and was shot and killed instantly. Sometimes you don't see the enemies but they are snipering everywhere. Always watch your corner map; and watch your back.
Kit selection
Primary Weapon: - For long sniping distance: M16A2
- For short distance: CAR-15
More detailed explanations on why to choose these weapons will be explained in the "Shooting" section.
Secondary Weapon: Any will do: - Item 1: Frag grenades*
- Item 2: Heartbeat Sensor**
*Frags: Yes, frags are extremely important to have. If you don't know how to use them, use the tutorial. When you know someone is in a room waiting, frag it. If there is someone around the corner -- frag 'em. Frags are very useful but BE CAREFUL! Many kill themselves or kill teammates because they can't use frags properly.
**Heartbeat sensors are also very useful, but never go into map mode to use your sensor. Always zoom out on the corner map with the open or closed bracket keys ? [ or ]. Turn around while looking on your map, and if an enemy is nearby, a red dot will appear where he is located. Don't stay with the heartbeat sensor for very long. Sometimes it doesn't detect someone, and they come in and kill you while you're helplessly trying to defend yourself with a heartbeat sensor.
Don't carry around extra mags. Seriously, I don't think you need all those mags. You get four mags of 30 rounds. That gives you 120 rounds. Don't you think that is enough?
