This section talks about moving around -- a very important aspect if you want to survive in the game.
Important general tips
When moving around in open space, or when exploring an area, always run (right mouse button by default). By running, you: - Minimize your chances of being seen when passing by a door where someone is waiting.
- Minimize your chances of being shot (a fast-moving target is harder to hit).
- Get where you want to go faster.
However, you can also move slowly if you are in sniper mode looking around for a target.
Close range
I think that close-range movement is the hardest. When I say close range, I mean when you're close to an enemy. When you surprise someone by mistake, you will panic, he will panic, and you will start shooting everywhere. Instead, stay calm. I have been successful in moving two different ways: - Running around the guy like a madman makes you hard to hit, but it also makes the enemy hard to hit. When you run around someone, make sure to run in a different direction all the time. If you run in the same direction, you will be shot easily.
- STRAFE. But you've got to run AND strafe. This method of moving gives you more control on your shooting and therefore makes shooting more precise. The drawback of this is that you are a lot easier to hit than if you are running around like a madman.
Long range
This movement is not as important as close range, but it is easier to kill someone by sniping on them. When you are far away, I've discovered you have two other possibilities: - Find a place where you have a good view of what's going on in only one section. A big view isn't good because you constantly have to move left and right in sniper mode to see everything. Find a spot where you will be hard to kill. When choosing a place, make sure no one is around to see you. Now, once you have chosen a spot, crouch (END key by default) and keep your finger on the crouch button. Home in on the section that you chose. When someone, an enemy preferably, pops up there, shoot! BUT BE PRECISE and try to shoot their head.
- The second movement for long distance is the strafe again. It is preferable not to snipe when strafing or you will get confused. Strafe left and right, so your enemy cannot predict your movement. When you are strafing, you have a smaller chance of being hit, and you still have some control over your shooting.
