Your MFB and Your Stockpile

Your MFB, or Mobile Field Base, is your storage and repair vehicle. The MFB(s) store all of your equipment, weapons, ammo, extra 'Mechs, etc., that you acquire during the game. When your 'Mech is badly damaged or in need of ammunition, you'll want to go see the MFB. To locate your MFB, look for a collection of blue triangles on your radar.

Press the M key twice to tell the MFBs that you are ready for repairs. They will automatically choose the closest site to you where they can deploy and start moving to that site. You will see a gray circle on your radar indicating where they will be going. Also, once you get to the deployment site, there will be a green circle superimposed on the terrain to tell you where you need to stand in order to get repaired.

Once the MFBs have deployed, they will tell you that they are ready to make repairs. Walk onto the green circle and power down your 'Mech by pressing the S key. Your view will change to an external view and you will see the repair vehicles close around you start their work. When they are finished, they will drive away and tell you that they are finished. Press the S key again to power up.

You can force the MFBs to quit repairs by pressing the S key. Your power-up signals that you have to get out of there now. They will also stop repairing by themselves if they are attacked.

If you wish to send the MFB to a pre-selected point that is not the closest to your 'Mech, press the M key once, then press the N key to cycle through the available deployment sites. Once you locate the site you want to send them to, press the M key again. Hint: Press the CNTRL+R key to bring up a small map of the mission area so you can see exactly where they will be going.
