Magic & Mayhem Game Tips

Here's a brief review of some of the initial creatures you'll conjure and encounter in this game and how best to handle them:

Bat: This little creature is very weak but where its strength lies is not combat, but fast scouting. You want to know where the enemy is and quick, move this creature around. Remember to double-click in one spot to get it to hover and thus keep it out of the range of some of the ground-based monsters. Also, use your bat to occupy a Place Of Power to keep your Mana supply coming in.

Brownie: The inherent little wimp in the game. This cowardly little creature is not much but do to its running ways, it will avoid the enemy and launch rocks at them from a distance. Also, this little guy is very cheap when it comes to Mana so for the same amount you're spending on the some of the more powerful creatures, you could have an army of these little peons.

Elf: The Elf has less health than a Redcap but it is quite faster than both the Redcap and Brownie. The Elf despises the Wizard so it will turn its attention toward the Wizard as soon as an enemy Wizard appears. Since the Elf has ranged attacks, try casting them in places where the enemy can't get to such as roofs or other high places.

Faun: Somewhat similar to the Skeleton in terms of attack damage and the cost of Mana to bring it alive but it suffers in terms of the amount of health it has. The advantage over the Skeleton? Not susceptible as the Skeleton to the Fireball spell.

Redcap: Probably the slowest creature in the game but don't overlook it. It has a comparable range to the Elf but the Redcap has a stronger hand-to-hand combat. Also, when it dips its cap into the blood if its victims, it regains twenty-five percent of its health back. Try boosting the Redcap with a Haste spell to make it move faster.

Skeleton: They're strong in their attacks and also fairly cheap in their cost to cast so where's their weakspot? They're vulnerable to the Fireball spell. Also, the Fire spell and Chain Lightening spells will work just fine. Another thing...the undead only receive one-third damage from non-undead creatures.

Unicorn: Probably the fastest creature in the game, the Unicorn makes a great scout. If you are being chased by one, you'll need some Mana to get away as mere speed will not cut it. Also, the Unicorn does not suffer the same penalty as the other creatures when fighting the undead. The undead will take full damage from a Unicorn.

Zombie: This undead guy has a nice strong health (if a dead can be considered healthy) but a weak attack. Being a member of the undead, it also only suffers one-third damage from the non-undead.

There are lots more in the game, but these will get you started. Part of the fun of the game is figuring out how the creatures work in conjunction with each other. If you have your own tips or thoughts on this game, send them to us and if they're helpful, we'll put them up on the site!
