Premise
The lands of Dereth are great indeed. There are countless battles to be fought and adventures to be embarked upon, and many friends to tell tales with. However, there are also many hazards in Dereth, in the form of powerful beasts, personal shortcomings, and violent men and women. One may grow weary of serving loose allegiances that have disorganized foundations. Do you get tired of fighting the same manner of beast day and night, in an endless cycle? Do you yearn to stand upon the battlefield in anticipation of the call to charge the opposing army? Well, my friend, the Dark Council is in need of you.
Requirements
- Only those with an open mind towards playing an evil role need apply. We will not allow anyone into the guild's sacred halls who does not role-play well.
- We ask that those who wish to join have attained level 5. This is for reasons of stability within the ranks, and for the individual growth of the character.
- We ask that you be active and not split your time among too many other characters. Only by remaining active and by serving the cause well will you gain higher rank. With higher rank comes greater rewards, and greater power.
- Those who join shall not share any information that is held within the guild as secret. Anyone caught in this act of treason will be slain.
- We do have a deep history, which is provided to all initiates of the guild. We expect recruits to understand why we are here before they are recognized as true members. We provide written documents outlining all the essential rules that must be followed when in the midst of your superiors and when on the battlefield. If any member has suggestions for the guild, or any information whatsoever, they need only tell their legion's leader.
The Cause
The Dark Council was founded for the sole purpose of freeing our dark god Yrth from imprisonment in the temporal void, and to sway the balance of power in favor of evil. By slaying Asheron and destroying the foundation beneath the followers and guardians of that which is good, we shall set Yrth free and reign over Dereth in Darkness.
Benefits of the Dark Council
Guilds in general are far safer, and more organized, than loose allegiances. Since it is a military establishment, there are rules and regulations for all manners of basic functions. The hierarchy does not fall when a high-ranking member decides to leave -- their vassals break from them and are sworn up the ranks accordingly. Guilds are fighting forces -- able to lay waste to a loose allegiance twice or three times their size. Guilds are very tightly knit, and they are for the most part free of internal rivalries. Allegiances are a social structure rather than a military structure. Anything so closely knit with society in general is bound for doom.
Much of Dereth's population does not role-play . . . a sad thing indeed. We provide members a serious role-playing environment that will serve to instill them with a lasting experience -- one that cannot be found any other place in Dereth.
Members will be supplied according to their needs, whatever they may be. We frequent the dangerous Direlands quite often to supply our members with the best equipment we can. We have been known to die for our members' needs.
We have many things to do in the realm of role-playing, such as rituals, sacrifices, and much more. We strive to make the best out of our time in Dereth. I, Darklord Mortanius, know the secrets of the arcane, as do my high-ranked mages. We know the root of even the most fabled magicks, and will provide them as your time with us progresses. The higher you go, the closer you come to gaining the secrets for yourself.
We look forward to bringing you into the darkness. Yrth welcomes you.
