Zoner Tips

Strategies, tips, and techniques! They're the stuff that makes or breaks your Age game. Every player you encounter has a different strategic approach. The more strategies you learn, the better prepared you'll be to change tactics when your favorite maneuver doesn't pan out.

Here are some of the excellent strategy tips that Zoners have contributed to Zidea. Check them out!

"A good tip is to go around the shoreline and attack your enemy from behind. Another good tip is to leave a tiny army behind so that when your enemy attacks, you can defend. However, when your enemy comes into your village, use your tiny army to defend, and send your better, larger army to attack their village. Make sure when you're attacking that your opponent doesn't notice your army until it's too late." -- neillyb

"To find out where an opponent is in a revealed-map game, simply look and see where the trees are being cut." -- Apollyonn

"Build a storage pit first and then a house." -- MegaJimmy

"Have more than 15 villagers before you go to Tool Age. This way, when you're upgrading to Tool, you're also taking in more resources quickly and then your opponent will never win. I have played over 1,000 games and this seems to be the best tip ever." -- EC_Diablo_EC_45

"If you use cheats, this one is for you. Type in the HOYOHOYO cheat (which gives Priests 600 hit points), then research Polytheism. It doubles Priest hit points to 1200 points." -- raderie

"I like to wall in the opponent's resources such as gold, stone, and berry trees (preferably with villagers). Then I put a tower and a storage pit inside the wall so I can help myself to the enemy's resources. As Sun Tzu said in his book The Art of War, "A cartload of supplies taken from the enemy is equivalent to 20 cartloads of our own." He'll have a hard time getting through the walls, as he will have to sacrifice the building of villagers for building of military units. Soon, the enemy will be short of resources and be easy prey, even if he does get inside the walls." -- KYA_bytebuster

"Getting a lot of villagers equals getting a lot of resources. Designate one villager as a builder. Use fish and berries to go through the ages, and leave the poor animals alone unless there's a lion to slow you down. Build houses first, then storage pits close to the trees, and then granaries close to the berries and farms." -- XLOrGyAMP9

"Get lots of priests to convert better technology, like heavy horsemen." -- Gag9

"If you want to keep someone from getting too close or block a pass without a wall, this one's for you. Get some stone throwers and tell them to attack ground and do this until there are stones flying constantly. If you have enough stone throwers doing this, no one will get by without getting killed." -- TFMOORE

"Try to build (train) Hoplites as soon as possible because they are really useful and powerful. A bunch of them can withstand a large enemy attack." -- irfantaj

"If somebody is Choson, select a civilization with ballistas to get the legions. Also, you should have catapults to get your opponent's towers and buildings." -- caleb-777
