Can you smell it? The cereal, the potted meat, the pizza in the tube, and the glistening soda on the ground, all just waiting for your ants to take back to the anthill. Mmmm. . . just makes your mouth water.
But even grabbing food off the floor isn't as easy as it looks, because you have to watch out for your opponent's ants, who are every bit as voracious as your own.
Here are some excellent tips contributed by your fellow Zoners. Try them out the next time you're playing the Treasure Map and see your points start to soar!
For the Treasure Map, get a partner and have both of you get the Fire Hat power-up on each side of the map. Then start placing fires around the opponent's hill so they can't get out or in to deposit food. Then put around six to 13 bombs around your food hatch so no thieves can steal your food. --From TS_FREEZE (added 2/25)
One Ants tip I have is that if you are losing by a little on Treasure Map, then take all your ants and go get the food that is worth the most points out of all the other food that's left on the map. If you are getting Critter Cola soda, stop, because that's not worth a lot. Go for the small candies. --From Iperham (added 2/25)
On the Treasure Map, get SwimAnts to go get the faraway foods, and have other ants go get different foods. This works well because your opponents can't get the faraway foods as fast because they can't make a quick jump into the safety of the water. --From KCP_LOVERB (added 2/25)
In Treasure, use the SwimAnt to get the Potted Meat if you are Green or Blue. --From Fury3_ (added 2/25)
When you play Treasure, first you should go for the food in the center. Then if you're the Red Ants or the Green Ants, you should go for the other food (Fruit Loops) right next to your anthill, because they are worth 30 points (this should put you ahead in points; if not, keep collecting food). Once you have done that, get a FireAnt and build fire walls around the opponent's anthills while getting food somewhere else. If you team up with someone on Treasure, be sure to have either him or you get all CombAnt power-ups. Then whoever has all CombAnts should go attack the other two teams. Send two to each hill. While your opponents are being attacked, build walls of bombs around your hill. Then only your ants can get in! BUT you've got to move FAST! --From cmc738 (added 2/25)
On the Treasure Map, be very quick and go get all the fire power-ups. But first you should send one of your ants to get the CombAnt power-up that is the closest to the enemy's anthill and send your CombAnt to slow down your nearest enemy. --From BK_Cricket2000 (added 2/25)
