If you're playing the multiplayer version on the Zone, just remember to:
Find the enemy before the enemy finds you. In the Salvo game, players have one missile for each of their ships. As ships are sunk, missiles are lost. Use them wisely! In the Volley game, keep firing until you miss. With bi-directional ship placement, place your ships both horizontally and vertically on the game screen. If you're playing Ultimate Battleship, you may want to check out these game tips from our News article:
Keep your way points short so you can stay on top of all unfolding events. Make the best use of the Alert status to protect your fleets. Use your AWACS to spot and shoot your missiles from long distances. Don't use multi-head missiles unless you have a sharp radar contact. Use your helicopters to take out enemy ships. Helicopters are better shots when it comes to taking out subs. If you have the choice between attacking an enemy battleship or carrier, go for the battleship as the carrier has probably already launched all its aircraft and has no other offensive weapons. Use the S key to slow down your fleet. To return to normal speed, hit the S key again. Whenever the satellite launch happens, switch from Radar to Satellite coverage so you can get an overall view of the complete map. To increase radar coverage, spread out your fleets while maneuvering. Keep an overlap of your maximum weapon range to help protect each other. Your AWACS provide the greatest radar coverage. Send an air squadron with your AWAC as escort. Keep an eye on the fuel situation when plotting the course to avoid having to ditch the unit. When you're performing protection missions for convoys or oil rigs, keep an AWAC overhead for early warning. Make sure you're on Red Alert when moving on the enemy. Red Alert makes your ships weave in a random pattern, even though it is not discernible on the map screen. If you can, go after the enemy subs first as they are harder to relocate if lost. If your fleet is too heavily damaged, pull out and head for a base. Place your fleets on Orange Alert and start steaming for a safe island where you can repair and live to fight yet again. If all of your fleets are in trouble, you might want to consider sacrificing the most damaged one so your other ships can get away to safety. When firing your weapons, save your missiles for the battleships and carriers. Also, only use them if you have a sharp radar contact so they are not wasted. When firing, do not wait for each armament to be fired before launching the next one. Proceed through your armaments and then cycle to the next ship. Do not begin firing another weapon system upon the same ship as this will cancel out the ordered firing. Note: If you have more Game Tips, we'd love to hear them.
